It said they were playing and recording in the early 90s so I'm posting them here.

Eyes wide open!
Metal riffs and attitude combined with compelling melodies and dark sentiments. Songs written from the heart with eyes wide open to the world around us. Dark sentiments from Finland
Widescreen Mode is a Rock / Metal band from Riihimäki, Finland. They are one of the few Scandinavian groups that have gained significant international recognition before they have any official releases out. WSM has more than 50.000 registered fans on the world's largest online community MySpace.com, making them the 4th most popular Finnish band online - right after HIM, Children of Bodom and The 69 Eyes. Most of the fans are coming from the USA, UK, Australia, Germany, Japan and South America. At the end of 2005 Widescreen Mode finished their second promotional EP "Another Day". The EP has been a huge success and received praising reviews all over the world. In their home country most of the important music publications, such as Soundi, Rumba, Imperiumi and Rokkizine, chose it for the demo of the month and in most of the reviews the EP got four to five stars out of five. Almost full points have been received also from the USA, Germany, Holland and Brazil. EP's title song, "Another Day" was tentatively released already in July 2005 in the biggest Finnish MP3 site Mikseri.net. The song went immediately to number one on the Mikseri.net's Top 40 chart staying there for several weeks. Also some festival gigs were immediately proposed for summer 2006. Besides the success in the reviews Widescreen Mode has also gained recognition in national and international competitions. During the year 2005 the band won YleX's (national radio station in Finland) demo of the week, got the second position in Universal Music's and Mikseri.net's Greatest Bits 2 competition, made it to the finals of the MTV Nordic's Unsigned competition and was eventually voted number 8 out of over 1.700 best Scandinavian unsigned bands. In July 2006 WSM was also chosen to participate the national finals of the Wacken Metal Battle. The interest for the band has been growing rapidly after the Autumn of 2005. All the important Finnish underground compilations, such as Noise, Miasma and Mikseri.net's GB, have included songs from the "Hello World" (2004) and "Another Day" (2005) EPs and more interesting gigs have been proposed every month. For example in December 2005 Widescreen Mode played at the Green Christmas 2005 festival, which is the biggest metal festival in the Baltics (with Anathema, Die Krupps, etc.). Last Summer WSM was playing at the sold out Qstock Festival (with Paradise lost, The Cardigans, etc.), Tehdas Festival (with Lovex, Wiidakko, etc.), Sziget Warm Up Party (at Tavastia) and Kes..potpuri, the biggest indoor Summer festival in Finland (with Entwine, Stam1na, etc.). The debut album
Right now the band is working on their upcoming debut album. This 12 song metal monster, titled "Until The End" is going to be released around the Summer of 2007. The first single is coming out a couple of months earlier. Widescreen Mode is looking for partners for international distribution, licensing and marketing. Background
The group has been playing, doing shows and recording demos together since the early 90's. Drummer Janne Aaltonen and guitar player Janne Lahtinen shared a Thrash Metal band called Aggressive Influence already in 1989. Singer Samu Brusila and bass player Janne Stenroos joined the group in 1992 when Fairlane was formed. Because of some career decisions and guys moving around, the band wasn't active for few years in late 90's and early 00's. Aaltonen called the group back together in 2003. Everyone had been waiting for this all those long years and was so ready to give everything for the music again. The band was christened Widescreen Mode. Success on MySpace
MySpace.com is the biggest online community in the world. With over 150.000.000 users it has become relevant media also for the music industry. The most popular Finnish band on MySpace at the moment is HIM with more than 400.000 registered fans. The second is Children Of Bodom with over 170.000 fans and the third is The 69 Eyes. Widescreen Mode is the fourth most popular Finnish band online with more than 50.000 registered fans! Most of the WSM fans are coming from the USA, UK, Australia, Germany, Japan and South America. A significant fanbase can be found also in Italy, Spain and the Baltics. All the biggest Finnish bands such as Apocalyptica, The Rasmus, Negative, Stratovarius and Nightwish have a presence on MySpace.
